Dear Scholars,
Are you looking for a way to get involved in school and help other students at the same time? If you have the desire to be a positive influence and help 9th grade students make the most of their high school years, you should become a peer mentor.This is a great way for you to make new friends, help people, and earn community service hours.
The first step is for you to submit an application, which is available for download http://scholarsacademy.ning.com/group/peer2peermentors. Please submit the completed application to my office before June 3. If I am not in my office, you can drop off the application in the manila folder on my door.
You will also need to attend a training and orientation session on August 18, 2009. The plus side is that by participating in the session, you will have the first shot at seeing your schedule before school starts.
